Instructions for Patients Coming for their First In-Person Appointment


1. Please STOP medications containing antihistamines* (e.g. allergy and cold medications) for
at least three days (72 hours) prior to your appointment, unless otherwise instructed. Continuing antihistamines may affect your allergy skin testing results. Nasal sprays, eye drops and inhalers are OK to continue.

*Examples:

Benadryl (diphenhydramine)
Reactine (cetirizine)
Claritin (loratadine)
Aerius (desloratadine)
Allegra (fexofenadine)
Rupall (rupatadine)
Blexten (bilastine)
Chlor-Tripolon (chlorpheniramine)
Advil Nighttime
Tylenol Nighttime
Gravol (dimenhydrinate)

2. If you are coming for possible food allergy, please bring a small sample of the food you are concerned about as this may be needed for allergy skin testing. (You do not have to bring cow's milk, hen's egg, wheat, sesame, soy, peanut or treenuts).

3. Please bring a list of your medications.

Dr. Yung is a Royal College (Canada) specialist in the fields of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (trained to look after both children and adults) as well as Internal Medicine. He is also American-Board certified in Allergy & Immunology (ABAI).
